Ernie Black

Grace to Youth

Ernie Black serves young men in several juvenile detention and correctional facilities across the state of Texas. Since the mid-1990s, he has ministered to youth detainees; tutoring, mentoring, and leading small group, and one-on-one Bible studies. After their release, Ernie continues to serve some of these young men and their families.

Ernie serves at these facilities:

  • TDJC (all across Texas)
  • Hope Inn Christ (Decatur, Texas)
  • TJJD (McFadden Ranch, Roanoke, Texas)
  • Teen Life Challenge (Desoto, Texas)
  • TJJD (Gainesville St. School, Gainesville, Texas)
  • Denton and Tarrant County Jails

Prayer Requests

  • That the young men would have open hearts and minds to the gospel, and that those who have accepted Christ would continue to live faithfully for Him once released.
  • That God would continue to provide flexible schedules and open doors to these facilities.
  • For wisdom since Ernie lost a very flexible job.
  • For new house parents and new youth at Hope Inn Christ.

Praises

  • For Chuck Grice who assists Ernie with the teaching at McFadden Ranch.
  • That some of the youth have stayed in touch when they leave.
  • For the changing lives in the youth that have been touched by God.
  • For more involvement with the men at Teen Life Challenge.
