Membership in a local church is vital to the spiritual health of each believer. The local church provides a place for corporate worship, fellowship, accountability, and opportunities to serve alongside fellow Christians. Below is some information on biblical membership and how to complete the membership process here at Countryside.

The Membership Process at Countryside

The major milestones of our membership process are:

  • Membership Application
  • Membership Class
  • Membership Interview
  • Membership Introduction and Reception
  1. Believer's Baptism

Baptism is a critical step of obedience to our Lord Jesus. If you are a believer and have not yet been baptized, we urge you to pursue Christian baptism.

Countryside approves membership only for those who have been baptized since their conversion.

If you would like to learn more about believer's baptism or apply to be baptized, please visit our Baptism page.

Milestone 1: Membership Application

The first milestone is the Membership Application.

Before applying for membership at Countryside, we encourage you to carefully read our Doctrinal Statement and Church Distinctives. An overview of these will be discussed in the membership class. In His high priestly prayer, Jesus emphasized the importance of unity. It is critical that we as a local church are in agreement on the fundamental issues in Scripture.

Please follow the link below to apply for membership. In your application, please seek to be thorough and detailed in your explanations in order to give the leadership at Countryside a clear understanding of your life and experiences.

Please note that every adult desiring to be considered for membership must fill out a separate application and class registration.

After your application is complete, you will receive a link to register for the next available membership class.

Applications for October's class (25, Nov 1, 8) are due by October 18.

Milestone 2: Membership Class

After completing your membership application, you will be eligible for the membership class, our second milestone of membership. These are scheduled several times throughout the year on Sunday mornings.

The class meets for three (3) consecutive weeks, and applicants are required to attend all classes to proceed with the membership process. The class meets in the North Building during the second hour.

To register for the next available membership class, follow the link provided in the confirmation email received after submitting your membership application.

Upcoming Membership Classes

Milestone 3: Membership Interview

After completing your application and attending the 3-week membership class, you will be able to interview with one of the church leaders. This will be an opportunity for you to share your testimony of faith with them, explain why you desire to be a member of Countryside, and discuss what areas of ministry you might be able to serve in.

Milestone 4: Membership Introduction and Reception

After completing your membership application, the membership class, and your membership interview, your application will be presented to the Elder Board of Countryside Bible Church for approval.

Once your membership is approved, you will receive a letter of confirmation and an invitation to participate in the last milestone: the Membership Introduction and Reception.

A few times throughout the year, our evening worship service includes a new member introduction. At the end of the service, the pastor will introduce each new member to the congregation and have them come to the front. After the service concludes, the new members and their families will join the congregation in the Fellowship Hall for a informal reception.
